System Overview
|
For anyone who's moving their
corporate computing along a Microsoft workgroup-style route, the new Apricot LS340 is the
natural choice for the desktop. With thoroughbred performance and inspired design, no
other machine is so perfectly equipped to explore the exciting possibilities of workgroup
computing. It's built on a
high-performance chassis that features Pentium processing, coupled with local bus
technology and high-speed hard disk systems. This stunning power base is brilliantly
integrated with a remarkable range of special features, creating a real performance edge
in key areas like networking, enhanced business audio, security, CD-ROM and graphics
acceleration.
Multimedia for business
The Apricot LS340 is totally wired for
sound, with integrated SoundBlaster Vibra-16 audio from the market leader Creative Labs,
its own internal professional audio system. Coupled with the Sony quad speed CD-ROM, you
can now have the benefit of high quality business audio through the units integral stereo
speakers, digital mixing desk and FM synthesizer.
Now you're talking
Networking is an intrinsic part of the
design, using an integrated network controller. It gives instant connection to all three
key Ethernet standards, and - by taking over the networking load from the main processor -
it gives you dramatically faster access to network data.
Inner space
Despite its slim, designer profile, there's
no shortage of expansion room inside the Apricot LS340. With space for two fast IDE hard
drives, and three ISA expansion slots - with a shared 32-bit PCI slot. A CD-ROM interface
is standard, ready for simple, plug and go access to a wealth of information, graphical
images and sounds. The Apricot LS340 is fully certified as a NetWare workstation.
Pick a Pentium
With the LS340 you choose precisely the
processor you need. Even the entry model boasts at least a 100MHz Pentium processor, and
the higher performance models come with a choice of 133MHz or 166MHz processors.
