The VS550 range from
Apricot meets all the needs of the corporate or volume business user. Fully specified,
with the very latest Pentium Pro processors, hard disks and advanced memory technology,
every VS550 is designed to offer the widest possible choice of price and specification -
so that you can put exactly the right model on each desktop, with no limits on processing
power, speed, capacity or performance. Processing Power
For maximum performance, suited
for true 32-bit operating systems and applications, the latest Pentium Pro processors are
ideal. Supplied with the latest 200MHz CPU these systems are at the leading edge of
personal computing performance.
Faster than ever
With every new development in
software, the demands placed on the computer's resources increase. The VS550 range has
been designed to meet all these needs - and more.
Systems include DIMM memory
technology, utilising high specification 60nS parts and benefiting from ECC protection for
greater reliability, this provides a memory sub-system that has been designed specifically
for the demands of Pentium Pro CPUs.
Sounds good
All models incorporate integrated
SoundBlaster Vibra-16 audio from the market leader Creative Labs. This provides high
quality business audio through the unit's built-in speaker, or, for maximum quality
through external speakers.
USB Expansion
The VS550 Pentium Pro system has
a dual USB port, allowing up to 127 devices to be attached per port. With USB, there is no
more guesswork about which serial or parallel port to use, and devices can be added
without requiring knowledge of IRQ settings, DMA channels or I/O addresses.
Desktop Management
Systems are compliant with the
latest DMI manageability standards. With the addition of a DMI browser application for
Windows NT 4 Workstation* asset management of the system can be undertaken either locally,
or remotely via the network.
