Users Guide to Cheyenne BitWare This guide is designed as a quick reference for basic operation of the Cheyenne BitWare software and does not contain information on all aspects of the software. The Cheyenne BitWare software is only supplied on machines with the Dataflex PC Comms Office 28.8 modem and is not guaranteed to function correctly on any other manufacturers hardware. Only the default settings (see Modem Settings & Software settings ) are supported by Mitsubishi Electric PC Division. This guide assumes that the modem has been connected for full multimedia functionality (see Modem Connection ). Connecting the modem to a phone socket The Dataflex PC Comms Office 28.8 modem is approved for connection to direct exchange lines of the PSTN (Public Switched Telephone Network), but not shared lines, "one plus one" carrier systems or some PBX (Private Branch Exchange). The modem has a REN (Ring Equivalence Number) of 1 and when connected to the phone line with other phone equipment the total REN for the line must not exceed the line's REN capacity - your local Phone line supplier will be able to check and advise you on the total REN capacity of your line.
