XEN-LS II Audio Circuits

Apricot has identified an issue where the XEN-LS II will emit a loud noise at power on. This is caused by the audio amplifier circuit being set to maximum gain. A work- round is to power off the machine and then power back on again. Further advice on this will be issued when the cause has been identified.

This may effect the 1% of the units shipped prior to 7th February 1993. It does not affect the operation of the system and only occurs at power on.

If you have received a machine which exhibits this symptom, you may either return and exchange the system as a DOA, or exchange the motherboard under warranty. Please contact Hardware Support for further advice.
