Upgrading of Hard Disk Drives in XEN-LS Machines
The maximum size of hard disk permissible in this machine is 240MB using
the Quantum LP240AT that is set as a type 22.
The latest BIOS to support the above drive is 3.10.20.
There is a BIOS version 3.10.21i that is in circulation. This is an
internal Apricot release only and has the Quantum LPS range of drives added. It is not
advisable to use this unless the correct drives are used. The Quantum Maverick or
Lightning drives and any other drives not listed are not supported.
If difficulties are experienced then it is recommended to downgrade to
the last Official Version, that is 3.10.20.
If Version 3.10.21i is fitted as part of a hard disk upgrade, the
customer should be made aware that this is an Apricot internal test release, which may
have errors that are not known to the Technical Support Department.
An IDE Controller with its own on board BIOS can be fitted providing the
on-board hard disk controller is disabled in setup. |
