MS530 apremote conflict with DirectX drivers.

It has been found that DirectX drivers may conflict with the remote control software on the MS530. Microsoft’s DirectX is normally installed by third party games or from the WWW.

Your software will normally prompt you to install DirectX, check in your control panel to see if you have DirectX already installed and if so note the version number. Never install an older version, this may corrupt the drivers.

You will see the following "cannot connect to mixer" error message reported on your Windows95 start-up screen.

To resolve the problem follow these step to restore the OEM Audio drivers.

  1. Accept the apremote error by Clicking the OK button.
  2. Select ADD/REMOVE PROGRAMS from the control panel.
  3. Select DirectX Drivers and then click on the Add/Remove button.
  4. Click the Restore Audio drivers button.
  5. Apply changes to ADD/REMOVE PROGRAMS Properties.
  6. Shutdown and Restart your computer.

Note – The DirectX video drivers and video acceleration, will not be affected by the changes you have made to the audio driver configuration.
