DOS games issues

Because MS-DOS games run as a virtual machine and do not like being interrupted, it is not advisable to run Windows 95 applications or BIOS functions such as power save and hard disk cashing at the same time. We recommend that you disable these functions when playing games or running DOS application.

Apricot answer phone issue

We recommend that you disable the apricot answer phone, fax or message centre when playing DOS games or applications.

If the machine receives an incoming call it will minimise and hang the game, this also has the effect on taking a long time to answer the line and thus having the probability of the other party hanging up, or in the case of a fax machine dropping the line.

Power save and standby issues

We recommend that you disable both Apricot Power Save, Windows Screen Saver and any timed BIOS power saver functions. This also applies to pressing the standby button.

The machine may hang and you will have to restart your game play and probably run scan disk before loading Windows 95 . The risking getting into a DOS loop is also increased.
