Microsoft OS/2 1.31 on the FTs and FTe

We have discovered that if you run Microsoft OS/2 1.31 on any Apricot machine, the SCSI LADDR (LAyered Device Driver aRchitecture) driver does not actually flash the hard drive light on the machine.

The solution to the problem is to use the Apricot supplied utility NETLIGHT. This utility can be found on the Release 5 of the LAN Manager Server Environment Pack in the \NETWORK\UTILS directory. Copy the NETLIGHT.OS2 file into the OS2 directory on the server and add the following line to CONFIG.SYS:

DEVICE=C:\OS2\NETLIGHT.OS2 /H15

(If the first Adaptec card is on IRQ 15)

The server should now be rebooted and the hard disk light will now flash normally.
