Archive 525MB Tape Support under Sytos Plus for OS/2 Version 1.33

Following the recent release of Microsoft LAN Manager 2.1, there is also a new version of Sytos Plus for OS/2. This version of Sytos Plus is being shipped with LAN Manager 2.1 and is designed to provide support for the new SCSI LADDR ( LAyered Device Driver aRchitecture ) drivers.

Currently, Sytron have not written a driver for the Archive 525MB tape drive although discussions are ongoing between Apricot, Microsoft and Sytron, on the production of a driver for forthcoming releases of Sytos Plus. We therefore suggest that until this driver becomes available, any LAN Manager network sold on either an FTs or an FTe has either the Archive 150MB tape drive or the Archive 1.3GB DAT tape drive fitted.

We will issue another bulletin when a fix to the problem becomes available, but if further details are required please contact Apricot Network Support.

Note: Older versions of Sytos Plus cannot be used with Microsoft OS/2 1.31 because they do not support LADDR and OS/2 1.31 does not support ASPI drivers.
