BusLogic SCSI Controllers with NetWare 3.11

When using the BusLogic card with NetWare 3.11 and disk drives of greater than 1GB capacity, the parameter in the reference disk which refers to > 1GB support must be set to "OFF" - the default is "ON" (if F1 is pressed at this option some help is displayed). The system can then be FDISK'd to create the DOS partition as normal and NetWare installed.

If this is not done before running FDISK, then the following error message will be seen when trying to create the NetWare volumes:

DOS Partition (16bit FATS) relative sector
32 and size 49120 do not match the ending cylinder 11
head 127 and sector 32.

The only fix once this problem has occurred is to change the parameter in the reference disk and then re FDISK the system and start from scratch.

If the system is subsequently re-referenced, then the > 1GB option MUST be set back to "OFF" again otherwise disk corruption will occur.

It should also be noted that the ASPI driver, "BTASPI.DSK" must be specifically loaded as it is not loaded automatically with the SCSI driver. This should be loaded directly after the "BT311.DSK" driver - usually in the servers "STARTUP.NCF".
