DPT Firmware Software Updates

DPT have recently released a new release of DPT Manger software and firmware. These updates have been placed onto Apricot’s Insight BBS in file area 41 (also available via anonymous FTP from ftp.apricot.co.uk in /pub/bbs/area41).

This file contains the following items.

DPT Manager Software version 1.e9 (4 disk images)
Firmware 07c ,SmartRom 3c3 (Binary image of a combined ROM)
IMAGE.EXE to convert the Disk images to floppy disks

To run the image program use the following syntax.

Image "source file name" A: /M

Example to create DPT Manager disk 1:

Image DPTMGR1.IMG A: /M

The new DPTMGR must be used in conjunction with the new firmware.

If you don’t have the facilities to create your own BIOS from the Binary image the new firmware can be obtained from Paul O’Brien in Hardware support.

However the old firmware must be returned or a charge of £15 + vat will be incurred.

To implement the new release.

Replace the existing firmware.
Reinstall the new software.
There is no need to recreate the array.
