VS660 and Windows 95 Video Drivers

The VS660 system is shipped with the S3 video graphics card. If Windows 95 is installed on the system, only the default resolution of 640x480x16 colours is available.

If a higher video resolution is required, the updated S3 video drivers must be loaded. The video drivers are can be downloaded from file Area 41 on Apricot Insight BBS. Filename - THOR_W95.EXE.

Installation instructions are as follows:

1. Start Windows 95.
2. Click Start button, and then point to Settings.
3. Click the Control Panel icon.
4. Double-click the Display icon.
5. Click the Setting tab.
6. Click the Change Display Type button.
7. Under Adapter Type click Change.
8. Click the Have Disk.
9. Click OK.
10. Select the device driver to install (S3 Trio32/64 PCI) and click OK.
11. When the installation completes, click the Close button.
12. Set the display resolution and colour depth a using the Desktop Area and Colour Palette options, then click the Apply button.
13. Restart your computer.
