Replacement Floppy drive for the
XEN-LS II
The XEN-LS II range of products originally used a floppy drive that was
powered via the data cable. To reduce the number of different floppies the floppy drive
will change to the type currently used in the XEN-PC (SH) that is powered by a separate DC
power cable.

This change does affect the JAPANESE models as they already use a
different floppy.
To fit these new separately DC powered floppies into the original XEN-LS
II (SA, SF) or XEN-PC (SF) a modification has to be carried out on the motherboard, remove
the ferrite bead FE48.
If this ferrite is not removed damage will occur to the
motherboard and floppy drive.
The drive is powered from a spare DC cable on the power supply.
