The current model of IDE CD-ROM drive used in a majority of Apricot computers is QUAD SPEED. With the market place putting further demands on the manufacturers in terms of speed, SIX SPEED is now coming to the fore.

Apricot have introduced the SIX SPEED drive into the LS550 - PENTIUM PRO model.

There are no issues between the use of QUAD and SIX SPEED drives. They are interchangeable and utilise the same driver software etc.
