Sytos Tape Software

One of the most common questions about SYTOS is:

How do I get subdirectories to be backed up, as well as the root?
I already have the 'TREES' option within STCONFIG set to 'YES'.

The problem is caused by the fact that the INCLUDE option within STCONFIG when first installed is set to \*.* Although this implies do all files from the root and with the TREES set to YES do the subdirectories as well, in practice the \ means do the root only.

The cure is to remove the \ from the INCLUDE option so that it says just *.*

Now when you enter SYTOS you will be in the directory that you installed SYTOS onto. You may have to use the SET and PATH options to change the path to the ROOT directory before beginning your backup.
