XEN-S Hard Disk Controller Failure

There has been a small number of reported failures of hard disk controllers on latest shipment XEN-S machines, fitted with IDE drives. The failure is normally reported at boot time and is accompanied by the error message:-

"Fixed Disk 0 Controller Failure"

The fault has been traced to the expansion card cage becoming dislodged in transit and causing loss of communication with the hard disk drive.

Until a suitable solution is found, please check that the expansion card cage is fully seated before returning any system units for repair or exchange with suspected hard disk related faults.
