Fans for LS Pro and LANstation - Differences

See Also IPB 4097

Although the fans for LS Pro and LANstation look the same, there are some major differences.

First, it is important to realise that the LS Pro has only ONE fan whereas the LANstation has TWO.

Secondly, as there is only one fan in the LS Pro, it is required to work harder and must have a higher specification. The LS Pro fan is therefore a high-speed high-volume type, whereas the LANstation fan has just the opposite specifications. It should be noted that the higher speed LS Pro fan has occasionally been found to have an increased operational noise factor compared to its LANstation equivalent. The operational performance of both fans is currently under review.

IT IS IMPORTANT TO NOTE THAT THE LANSTATION FAN SHOULD NOT BE USED AS A REPLACEMENT FOR ANY LS PRO FAN.

Use of the LANstation fan in LS Pro will cause reduction in airflow, and consequently could cause cooling problems.

Relevant part numbers are:

LANstation fan (Quietec SB0412L): PT14847031
LS Pro fan: PT15005631
