EPx trying to install SCSI BIOS on Power up
If, in the event of booting up, the following message appears:
ADAPTEC AIC-7770 BIOS v1.1
(c) 1993 ADAPTEC, Inc. All Rights Reserved
Can't locate host adapter
BIOS not installed!
The cause of this is that the SCSI BIOS has been enabled in the System
Set-up of the machine and the EPx version of the J3 motherboard does not have on-board
SCSI, only IDE.
All that is required is to disable the SCSI BIOS in the Advanced System
Configuration section of System Set-up.
To disable the SCSI BIOS follow these steps :-
Press <CTRL><ALT><DEL> to enter set-up,
Enter System Configuration,
Move to Advanced System Configuration,
Press <Pg Dn> once then move to SCSI I/O ROM Mapping,
Change BIOS Address to Disabled
Press <ESC> then press <return> to save CMOS changes and
then
press <ESC> twice to reboot machine.
The error message should no longer appear. |
