XEN-PC (A1 Motherboard) Password Setup

XEN-PCs fitted with the A1 motherboard, product code prefix "SH", are shipped with the password jumper in the disabled position. This is because you cannot load SETUP without a SETUP password being set, when the jumper is in the enabled position.

JP2

JP2 is used to enable or disable the motherboard security features. When pins 1 and 2 are connected (the left two pins looking from the front) the security features are controlled by SETUP, when pins 2 and 3 are connected security cannot be enabled by SETUP.

Changing the Password

The power-on password can be changed in SETUP or manually.

  1. SETUP

Ctrl+Alt+Esc invokes SETUP select security option.

  2. Manually

First enter the password at the KEY symbol then reboot the machine (Ctrl+Alt+Del). When the KEY symbol reappears, type the password followed by a forward slash (/) and the new password. To disable the password, type password followed by forward slash (/). Up to 7 characters may be used for the password.
