Serial Port Controller Devices fitted to Apricot
Products
To support fast serial devices i.e. V.32 & V.34 external modems, a
16550 compatible RS232 port controller is required.
A 16450 compatible controller will support these types of devices but
cannot sustain the throughput of data that a 16550 compatible device can.
