XEN-PCLS no DOS beep
XEN-PCLS Pentium machines with Feature Cards of build level 10 have been
found not to beep under DOS until Windows loads the sound drivers.
A short term workaround has been created which consists of a 40byte
program called PCBEEP.COM which can be loaded in AUTOEXEC.BAT. This program is BETA and
should only be used until a hardware fix is available, it can be found in Area 46 of the
Apricot Insight BBS.
486 machines are not affected as they have motherboard speakers. |
