Windows 95 Disks using Apricot Create Disk Function

There appears to be confusion between the amount of disks required, and the disk labels supplied to backup the system disks for Windows 95.

When a new machine with Windows 95 software supplied is first switched on, (during the initial Windows 95 setup) you will see the following message "Create System Disks" appears on the screen. This gives the option to create the disks straight away or do them on a later reboot (up to 10 reboots).

If you decide to create the disks later then the syntax will reappear on the chosen reboot. If 0 is selected then the syntax does NOT reappear and is placed in the Programs / Accessories / System Tools sub directory and can be accessed later on.

If you decide to create the disks straight away and choose to create the Windows 95 system disks, then 30 disks are required. The first disk is to be the "Setup Boot Disk" and the other 29 are the "Windows 95 Setup Disks". There is however 1 Setup Boot Disk and 30 Windows 95 Setup Disk labels supplied not 1 and 29. This is a printing error.

Once these system disks have been created, the rest must also be created straight after. If this is not done, the only way the other system disks can then be copied is by using backup software.

Please Note: You only have one attempt to create your Windows 95 disks, so make sure you have 30 Pre-Formatted HD Floppy Disks available when you start.
