Settings to be used by Games Shortcuts in Windows
95
When installing games on Apricot Machines with Windows 95 installed,
please carry out the following instructions:
- Create a Shortcut by selecting the Game directory in My Computer (e.g.
FIFA96, WCIII etc.), select the file to start the game (one left click on mouse) and click
right button on mouse. This will give a menu, select Short Cut using left button on mouse,
then drag the Icon onto the main screen. This window can then be closed down
- Highlight the Shortcut by Right clicking the mouse. This will give a
menu. Select Properties using left button on mouse.
- A box labelled "Shortcut to (Name of the game) Properties" will
appear with other options starting with General. Select "Program" using left
button on mouse.
- A further box will appear with the Name of the game, Cmd. Line, Working
(may not be available), Batch File, Close on exit lines in white and 2 boxes marked
Advanced and Change Icon. Please ensure the lines are correct e.g.: FIFA96, D:\FIFA96, AND
D:, in the Name of Game, Command and Working lines. If they are ok, select
"Advanced".
- Once in the Advanced Program Settings option select "MS-DOS
mode", "Warn before entering MS-DOS mode" and "Specify a new MS-DOS,
Configuration.
- Ensure the lines shown below are loaded and left click mouse on ok to
save.
- Once the correct lines have been entered and it has been saved you will
return to Shortcut to (Name of the game) Properties and the working directory can be
changed if required. Pressing OK again will revert you back to the main screen.
