Can't Disconnect message at LOGON:

We have been receiving calls recently reporting that at the LOGON: prompt a message occurs:-

Can't disconnect
NET 810 - Unexpected network error

This is caused by using the Microsoft version of REDIR.EXE which is installed by default with VX-Net 3.13.

The correct version to use is REDIR.EXE Vr 1.5.4 from disk 2 of the VX-Net 3.13 upgrade pack.

If the problem is affecting a large number of workstations, the server should be stopped, booted off disk 2 of the VX-Net 3.13 upgrade pack, and then the batch file 'OLDREDIR.BAT' should be run.

This procedure will replace ALL occurrences of REDIR.EXE on the server with Vr 1.5.4.

NETGEN should then be run to update the boot disks of ALL floppy based workstations.

The network can then be restarted and used as normal.
