LAN Manager 2.0c Netpopup Screen Corruptions

It has been discovered that if a mouse driver is used with a LAN Manager Enhanced workstation, the workstation monitor may turn blank, white or may corrupt after a Netpopup message is displayed.

To prevent this, MOUSE.SYS needs to be installed after the workstation service has been started.

This is done by using AMLOAD and AMLOADDV.

For DOS 3.3 and DOS 4.01

At the start of the workstation's AUTOEXEC.BAT add the line

AMLOAD /INIT

this will initialise the above memory for use by AMLOAD and AMLOADDV.

Then after the NET START WORKSTATION line, high load the mouse driver by adding the line

AMLOADDV [PATH]\MOUSE.SYS

For DOS 5

After the NET START WORKSTATION line in AUTOEXEC.BAT, high load the mouse driver by adding the line

AMLOADDV /L [PATH]\MOUSE.SYS

Once this has been done NETPOPUP will no longer corrupt the screen display.

N.B. This problem does not affect Windows workstations running Winpopup.
