FTUPS.NLM on FT//s & FT//e servers with NetWare 3.11, 3.12, or 4.01

A problem has been discovered on FT//s and FT//e servers running NetWare 3.11 or later, using FTUPS.NLM version 3.01 or earlier, where if the server is under heavy load, the UPS software can think it has received a shutdown (or reset) request from the front panel (despite the fact that none of the buttons have been pressed) and therefore down the server.

This problem has been investigated by Apricot, and a new version of FTUPS.NLM has been released to overcome the problem. Version 3.02 of FTUPS.NLM is now shipping as part of the current release of the NetWare 3.x/4.x Server Environment Pack (rel. 7.2 - released on 25th February 1994).

Users who have version 3.01 of FTUPS.NLM can download an upgraded FTUPS.NLM module from File Area 37 of Apricot Insight BBS. However, releases of FTUPS.NLM prior to version 3.01 require additional software modules, and Apricot's Network Support Department should be consulted if an upgrade from such a release is needed.
