Installation Problems with Microsoft OS/2 1.3 on FT//e or FT//s

Problems have been encountered with Microsoft OS/2 Version 1.3 when installing on an FT//e or FT//s file server.

After OS/2 1.3 has been installed, upon re-booting OS/2 may appear to hang. It will not continue to boot and will not load the Presentation Manager.

If this occurs, it will be necessary to clear the CMOS RAM of the server and re-configure the server with the Reference/Setup disk.

The CMOS is drained by moving the switch in the middle of the motherboard, labelled SW3 to left position and back again. When the server is powered back on the Security Identification Number (SIN number) needs to be entered.

The server will then have to be configured with the Reference/Setup disk.

Once the above has been completed, re-boot the server and OS/2 will then boot successfully.
