Problems installing IBM OS/2 Warp on a XEN-LS II

Problems have been found installing IBM OS/2 Warp onto a XEN-LS II system.

After the first part of the installation, OS/2 requires to be re-booted. Upon boot up the OS/2 Warp logo appears and the machine hangs at that point.

To overcome the problem the internal 486 cache needs to be disabled. This is done in the XEN-LS II setup (Alt S) on power on.

Once in the setup program, choose Advanced.

Select i486 cache to disable the cache.

Save the settings. Once the machine is restarted installation of OS/2 Warp can continue as normal.

After installation is complete the i486 cache can then be re-enabled from the XEN-LS II setup.

OS/2 Warp will now boot successfully.
