Windows 95 Software Updates
Since the release of Windows 95 in August 1995, Microsoft have released
a number of updates and enhancements to the operating system. The list below contains a
new collection of recommended updates from Microsoft for Windows 95. All the files were
obtained from Microsoft, and can be found in File Area 7 of Apricot Insight BBS. These are
in addition to those documented in IPB 2247.
- KRNLUPD.EXE
This Kernel32 update from Microsoft resolves a memory leak which occurs when opening and
closing a Socket when using the Windows Sockets API.
- OLEUPD.EXE
This upgrade from Microsoft contains updates to the OLE32 components in Windows 95.
- COVER_PG.EXE
This update from Microsoft fixes problems with the use of MS FAX not showing available
cover pages.
- MSPWLUP2.EXE
This update from Microsoft fixes a bug which was introduced in the Windows 95 Service Pack
1 Password List Update which could occur when an application attempts to remove a cached
password.
- BACKUPD2.EXE
This update from Microsoft gives performance improvements over the released version of the
Windows 95 Backup Application.
- EXUPDUSA.EXE
This update from Microsoft contains a complete update for the Exchange components that
shipped with Windows 95. It incorporates the fixes in the previous EXCHUPD.EXE (see IPB
2247) along with a number of new fixes and enhancements.
