Disabling the Universal Serial Bus device on FT1200

The Apricot FT1200 server comes with USB support built onto the motherboard as standard. At present however, there is no operating system support for USB, and as such, it is recommended that the USB port is disabled in the CMOS SETUP. This will then free up the resources that would otherwise be reserved by the USB port for use with other devices.

To disable the USB port, follow the steps below.

  1. Press F1 to enter SETUP as the system boots
  2. From the Configuration/Setup Utility menu, select ‘Advanced Setup’ and press enter
  3. From the Advanced Setup menu, select ‘Universal Serial Bus’ and press enter
  4. Set ‘Universal Serial Bus’ to ‘Disable (left/right cursor key)
  5. Press Escape twice, ‘Save Settings’ then ‘Exit Setup’
