MS600 ‘Promotional’ models

Three specific MS600 UK ‘promotional’ models shipped recently have caused some confusion as to which ‘spares’ part number Motherboards & Hard Disks should (& could) be used to service these units. The below information gives, by model, the spares part numbers for the Motherboard & Hard Disk shipped within each & also any replacement alternatives & the ‘Form, Fit & Function’ (FFF) differences :-

** Note :- Spares / Hardware Bulletin No NL0072 (dated 03 April 1998) details an issue relating to ‘spares’ motherboards purchased as replacements under PT12455831 whereby these boards have an NTSC video BIOS installed & therefore will not output the display to a standard PAL television without a FLASH BIOS update being carried out prior to installation. This same issue also applies to PT12460631.
As the bulletin also suggests, an option for replacement ‘in the field’ of either shipped variant is to use either of the following higher specification alternatives that both have a PAL video BIOS installed as standard :-
