Memory and Disk Requirements for SCO Xenix and SCO Unix

SCO Xenix cannot be installed on any machine with less than 2MB of memory.

SCO Unix cannot be installed on any machine with less than 3MB of memory.

Any attempt to use less than these values will result in faulty installation of the Operating System. We strongly advise that on board memory in the form of SIMMs or daughterboards is used in preference to add in bus memory.

Xenix requires a Winchester of at least 30MB and is still the best solution for machines with less than 100MB of Winchester.

Unix requires a Winchester of at least 50MB and even 50MB barely gives enough space for any application to be installed. New machines with greater than 100MB especially the Qi PC-i and the VX FT are better with Unix as this represents the future course of the operating system.
