Unix/Xenix Server Environment Rel 4 (SE44557)

The new Unix/Xenix Server Environment pack release 4 includes Unix bootsrv, the remote DOS workstation boot facility.

Some points to be aware of regarding installation of this product are as follows:

It is only supported on the following workstations with the correct ROMs:

XEN-S I Not currently supported, will be available in next ROM release
XEN-S II 1.02.17 ROMs or later
LANstation 1.02.19 ROMs or later
Qi Unsupported

A utility called SDBUILD is used to create "softdisks" from which the workstations boot. This requires that a floppy disk containing the software to enable booting and various drivers, paths, etc. for applications to run is set up first. Care must be used when setting the floppy that the information for remote startup is correct when running remotely, i.e. that references are made to the right drive letters.

Also you can have a common softdisk which is made from a floppy, but to a remote user this is write protected, so it is even more important that you have the correct items on the floppy used to create it.

This latest environment pack also contains a later version of the UPS software which is required for use with the Mk2 FT machines.
