SCO UNIX V/386 3.2v4.0 Maintenance
Supplement
This supplement updates the operating system revision to 3.2v4.1 and
installs a number of updates. The important points to note are:-
- New utility 'scsibadblk' is provided for mapping out SCSI bad blocks when
Automatic Write Remapping and Automatic Read Remapping is not provided by the SCSI drive.
The utility can also switch the feature on if it is not enabled on a drive capable of
remapping.

- New option to compress which gives 30% more compression.
- New version of tar to allow truncation of file names.
- Kernel changes to allow additional pseudo ttys and xterm sessions.
Whilst it is not necessary to install the supplement on most machines,
it must be used where the new TCP/IP 1.2.0 and NFS 1.2.0 are to be installed. Please
ensure that you acquire copies of this supplement for all your customers who will may wish
to upgrade to the new TCP/IP and NFS.
As before the supplement is available on the UNIX front end server and
on the MS-DOS Insight BBS system. The supplement consists of two HD disks
where systems are being upgraded or three HD disks for new installations. Upgrades make
use of the UA disks which can be custom installed in single user mode, new installations
use replacement N1, N2 and M1 disks. All the disk images are stored in UNIX compress
format.
