SCO Xenix 2.3.4 & XEN-LS II with Adaptec 154* SCSI Cards

To configure Adaptec 154* SCSI cards on SCO Xenix 2.3.4 the following must be done:-

  1. Alter the hardware interrupt via the jumpers on the card on bank J9 (for B revision cards) to be interrupt 9.
  2. We recommend disabling the Audio from the XEN-LS II setup as this will allow DMA channels 1 or 3 to also be used. The Adaptec default of channel 5 should however work.
  3. Change the software interrupt of the card from 11 to 9. Under Xenix change the following line in /usr/sys/conf/master
    ad0 1 0337 014 ad0 0 34 34 1 5 33 0 0 0

      to

    ad0 1 0337 014 ad0 0 34 34 1 5 31 0 0 0

  4. Rebuild the kernel by running the following command in the directory /usr/sys/conf
    ./configure -r
    ./link_xenix
    ./hdinstall
  5. Now reboot the machine and the card should be seen correctly.
