FTP 2.11/2.2 WTNVT

The FTP MS-DOS TCP/IP products now sold by Apricot include a Windows based terminal emulator. This emulator negotiates with the UNIX host to establish a terminal session running vt220. vt100 or vt52 emulation.

SCO UNIX does not by default have vt220, vt100 or vt52 termcap entries in the format FTP uses. This causes the negotiation of terminal type to use vt52 which is not what most people require. To remove the problem and allow sessions to be fixed as vt220 or vt100 please edit the file /etc/termcap on the SCO UNIX server and change the following lines:-

original dv|vt52|dec vt52:\
new dv|vt52|dec-vt52|dec vt52:\
original d1|vt100|vt-100|pt100|pt-100|dec vt100:\
new d1|vt100|vt-100|pt100|pt-100|dec-vt100|dec vt100:\
original de|vt220|DEC VT220 in vt100 emulation mode:\
new de|vt220|dec-vt220|DEC VT220 in vt100 emulation mode:\

Once all three of the new lines have replaced the original lines saved configurations should negotiate the chosen emulation.
