Server Environment Rel 7.1
This server environment is for SCO UNIX only, if you require drivers for
SCO Xenix then release 7.0 should be used (IPB 3145 indicates
Rel 6 is the last Xenix version, but in fact Rel 7.0 is the last environment pack with
Xenix support).
This server environment is also the first to support the new FT//s and
FT//e servers, any release prior to 7.1 should NOT be installed on FT//s or FT//e machines
and any UNIX systems in the field should be upgraded to this release when possible.
The software changes from previous releases are:-
- UPS software upgraded to support FT//s and FT//e front panels.
- LITE software upgraded to support FT//s and FT//e front panels.
Please remember that an Ethernet driver MUST be installed and tested
before the Lite driver is installed otherwise the kernel will fail to link.
The HIRES drivers on this disk are for Open Desktop 2 and XSight 4.1
(without X11R5 update). Driver support for the Cirrus Logic 542* range of video
controllers with Open Server 3.0/Open Desktop 3.0 is currently being examined. Open Server
3.0 and Open Desktop 3.0 already contain drivers for the Chips & Technologies 452
found on older Qi, FTe and FTs systems.
