SCO Xenix and Pentium Systems

The advent of the Pentium desktop and small server machines has led to a number of systems being installed with SCO Xenix. We would like to emphasise we strongly recommend that customers are wherever possible encouraged to have SCO Unix installed on Pentium systems. SCO Xenix is a mature product with no future development plans and it was not designed with the performance of the Pentium processors in mind.

Some problems have been exhibited on 60 MHz Pentium machines with SCO Xenix which lead us to conclude that any desktop or server platform running Pentium processors above 60 MHz will not be supported running SCO Xenix.
