Microsoft Encarta '94 CD & Insight CD
It has been brought to our attention, that if the Insight CD is
installed on a system that previously ran Microsoft Encarta '94 CD, when Encarta is used
again, some of the video clips will not play correctly.
The cause is due to different versions of the Microsoft AVI driver in
use. Encarta uses the original version 1.0 whereas Insight uses the current version 1.1.
According to Microsoft, there is some incompatibility between the two
versions of the driver, which shows itself when playing some of their video clips. They
recommend, that the original version of the driver be copied from the Encarta CD into the
Windows\System directory.
Downgrading the driver on the system does not have any effect on Insight
CD. |
