VX-Net 3.13 & MCA Western Digital
Ethernet Cards
Western Digital have produced a number of different types of MCA
Ethernet which are currently causing confusion. The release of ETHERNET.SYS supplied with
VX-Net 3.13 (Vr 3.1.4) fails with the X3 (surface mount) revision of the card. The X4 and
X5 revisions work correctly.
The X3 card can be made to function correctly through the new release of
ETHERNET.SYS (3.15.01 beta), that is available from Technical Support. It is also
available on the Apricot Technical Support Bulletin Board, but please contact Technical
Support before trying to download, as the file is in a protected area.
Note: The recommendation made in IPB
2013 regarding the configuration of MCA Western Digital cards still applies with this
new release.
