Novell Remote Booting and DOS 3.3

We have found a number of situations when trying to remote boot Apricot DOS 3.3 based workstations whereby the workstation will hang as soon as NET3.COM is loaded from the remote disk image file on the server.

After some investigation, we have found that the problem is caused by NOT loading ANSI.SYS in the CONFIG.SYS of the boot disk that is used to create the disk image file.

We suggest that ANSI.SYS and COUNTRY.SYS be copied to the boot disk being used, and the following CONFIG.SYS file is used as an example when configuring remote booting DOS 3.3 workstations...

FILES=20
BUFFERS=20
COUNTRY=44
LASTDRIVE=E
DEVICE=ANSI.SYS
