Windows 3 Network Installation
It has now been found that information given in IPB
2049 on the installation of Windows 3 on a network is partly incorrect.
When running "SETUP /N /I", if you choose all options as being
correct when given the hardware selection by Windows, (i.e. Monitor Type, Mouse Type
etc.), then the setup program copies all the Windows 3 files to your specified location
instead of using the "expanded" files as the shared general location for the
application, and your specified user area for the user specific files only - this is
obviously an unnecessary duplication.
To avoid this complete duplication of files, select:
"NO MOUSE OR POINTING DEVICE"
when given the list of hardware, then, once the installation is
complete, run Windows and then "Windows Setup" and choose your mouse from there.
The result of this is that only about fifteen files (in one directory)
are copied to the user's location, instead of the complete eighty or so.
