Pre-installed Windows for Workgroups and i82596 On-Board Ethernet

XEN-LS II and LS Pro systems which have been pre-installed with Windows for Workgroups 3.11 may be seen to hang when loading or unloading Windows if they do not have a valid network cable connection.

If no network connectivity is required, start Windows by typing WIN /N to prevent the network drivers loading, then run Network Setup and disable Windows support for networks.

If the system is to be connected to a network later, a simple Ethernet T-piece with two terminators will suffice.
