Configuring an FT1200 with Apricot K2 System Management Card

The Apricot FT1200 server is now being supplied with the Apricot K2 System Management Card installed as standard. The K2 card is an ISA adapter that uses interrupt 10, and I/O base address 108h.

Because the FT1200 has a PCI bus and a plug-and-play BIOS, these resources need to be reserved in the plug-and-play section of the system BIOS setup, otherwise it is possible that resources needed by the card will be allocated to other plug-and-play adapters. To do this, carry out the following steps;-

  1. Re-boot the FT1200 and Press F1 to enter SETUP

  2. From the 'Plug and Play' menu, select 'I/O Port Resources'

  3. Page Down to the '108h – 10Bh' entry and change it from 'Plug and Play' to 'ISA Legacy'

  4. Press ESC then select 'Interrupt Resources'

  5. Select Interrupt 10 and change it from 'Plug and Play' to 'ISA Legacy'

  6. Press ESC twice, select 'Save Settings', then 'Exit Setup'
