FT2200 Server and 3Com 3C900 PCI Ethernet cards

Mitsubishi Electric have identified a problem with the FT2200 server if installed with either single or multiple 3Com 3C900 PCI Ethernet controller cards. The problem appears with Windows NT and NetWare operating systems.

When transferring data to the FT2200 server over the network, after a period of time the 3C900 Ethernet card will stop responding and hang.

The Technical Support Group has successfully tested the 3Com 3C905, 3C595 and 3C590 PCI Ethernet controller cards as well as the 3C592 EISA Ethernet controller card in the FT2200 server.

The problem with the 3Com 3C900 PCI Ethernet card has been identified as a BIOS issue. It is currently being investigated by the motherboard supplier, 3Com and Mitsubishi. A further bulletin will be issued once the problem has been resolved.
