SCO Unix V/386 3.2 and Security

Under SCO Unix V/386 3.2.0 a number of problems have existed with regard to the C2 Security System. The SCO Supplement UNX 223 went some way to remedying this problem. In SCO Unix V/386 3.2 version 2, the software in UNX 223 had already been incorporated.

SCO have now produced an enhancement to the security system which improves the robustness of the security and remedies, at least in part, problems experienced with terminal lockouts. We recommend this fix (UNX257) is installed on all SCO Unix V/386 systems, UNX 223 should be installed first on SCO Unix V/386 3.2.0 systems.

The fix is available in the SLS directory on the Unix front end e-mail/bulletin board machine and in file area 39 of the MS-DOS bulletin board system.
