SCO TCP/IP 1.1.3f with on-board Ethernet

When using the latest release of SCO TCP/IP (release 1.1.3f) on systems with on-board Ethernet, the Apricot LLI Driver must be release 3.0.(Latest version at time of writing).

This driver is on the bulletin board in area 39 as the file LLI300.Z

The procedure for installing this version of the driver has changed from older versions, and is outlined below:-

  1. If upgrading the driver already installed, use custom to remove the existing driver. Manually remove the perms file, /etc/perms/e592.
  2. Use custom to install the rel.3 driver software.
  3. Run the command "mkdev e5920". Select "e592". If there is a clash of Interrupt vectors, then edit /etc/conf/cf.d/mdevice, and change the number at the end of the line for "wdha" from 6 to -1 as detailed in IPB 3087.
  4. Run the command "mkdev e5920tcp". This configures the TCP/IP software's Internet address, net mask, and broadcast address.
  5. Reboot the system and test by using the command "ping remote", where "remote" is a hostname defined in /etc/hosts.
