Specialix Driver Revisions

Apricot now recommends that all new systems should use the Specialix drivers disk revision 5.01. This supersedes releases 4.00 and 4.02 and should be used on all Apricot MCA and AT products under UNIX or Xenix.

The 5.01 revision drivers disk includes several modifications, notably:

  1. Under UNIX SI no longer outputs the message "Warning SI Interrupt handler re-entered" when receiving break from a modem.
  2. Under UNIX when transparent print is being used limitations with printer escape sequences have been removed to allow in general 5 character sequences or less.
  3. Under UNIX CTS flow control has been fully implemented along with fixes to allow TCFLSH and TAB0 to be handled correctly.

This driver should also be used where any serial line related problems exist and Specialix hardware is installed. Don't forget on older sites to check the hardware as documented in IPB 3090.
