SCO Xenix 2.3 (AT and MCA bus) and the
TS150/5 (Wangtek)
Considerable problems have shown themselves in recent weeks and
clarification is now required.
For MCA bus machines, full length Tecmar cards work with the existing
Xenix driver. The tape unit should be checked for a firmware checksum, 12CD is correct,
FEE1 is incorrect and can cause intermittent hanging.
For AT bus machines, Rev C half length cards with through mounted
silicon work with the existing Xenix driver. The tape unit should be checked for a
firmware checksum, 12CD is correct, FEE1 is incorrect and can cause intermittent hanging.
For MCA bus machines with half length Rev C surface mount cards the SCO
Support Level Fix xnx166 is required. Once this is installed the Xenix will be able to
correctly address the card. The tape unit should be checked for a firmware checksum of
12CD or 12CE which are correct, FEE1 is incorrect and can cause intermittent hanging.
For AT bus machines with surface mount half length Rev A6 and Rev C
cards SCO Support Level Fix xnx149 is required. Once this is installed the Xenix will be
able to correctly address the card. The tape unit should be checked for a firmware
checksum of 12CD or 12CE which are correct, FEE1 is incorrect and can cause intermittent
hanging.
Support Level Supplement xnx166 is available now on the Technical
Support Bulletin Board (a charge will be made if anyone insists on having a disk sent).
Support Level Supplement xnx149 will be made available as soon as
testing has been satisfactorily completed. This supplement will also be placed on the
Technical Support Bulletin Board.
The 12CD firmware can be supplied by Network Si Group, part number to
quote is 30199430.
General installation of the TS150/5 is covered in IPB
3010 for AT Bus and IPB 3035 for MCA Bus.
